7 things about your life that affect your health

In many ways, your health is affected by how you live. Some parts of your lifestyle are more important than others, but they can all help you get healthier. For instance, if you are active, your chances of getting heart disease are lower. Also, eating well can make you healthier, so it's important to keep an eye on your BMI.

Another thing to think about is smoking. Many serious diseases are more likely to happen if you smoke. Stopping smoking is important. The American Heart Association says that if you want to lower your chance of getting heart disease or dementia, you should stop smoking. It also says that you should work out every day. Quitting smoking will not only help your health, but it will also lower your risk of other health problems.

In the United States, chronic diseases are the main cause of death and disability. Lifestyle risk factors include not getting enough exercise, eating poorly, smoking, and drinking alcohol. These things have a direct link to the chance of getting a chronic disease. If you smoke, the smoke will make it more likely that you will get lung cancer or heart disease.

Several studies have shown that following the seven lifestyle factors listed above can cut your risk of getting cancer by a large amount. One study found that following all seven suggestions can cut the chance of getting cancer by 50%. More than 13,000 people were looked at by the researchers. These results show that the effects of living in a healthy way add up over time. The less likely you are to get cancer, the more healthy habits you add to your daily life.

Other studies have linked BMI to having more than one disease. Men with higher BMIs were more likely to have more than one disease. Other lifestyle factors, like drinking alcohol and being physically active, made it less likely for a person to have more than one disease. If you had a higher BMI and had smoked before, you were more likely to get more than one disease.
